This section enables customers of Authorised Investment Firms to check whether the firm with which they are investing is a member of the Gibraltar Investor Compensation Scheme.
An investment firm which is authorised in Gibraltar under the Financial Services Act 1998 shall participate in the scheme if
(a) It has its head office in Gibraltar; or
(b) It has its head office in a non-EEA State and any investor compensation scheme in which it participates in its State of incorporation or formation does not offer equivalent protection to investors in Gibraltar.
